Overview

World Radio ("the App") is a free worldwide internet radio streaming app. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user.

We do not collect, store, or share any personal information. The App is designed to work without any account, login, or personal data of any kind.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• No name, email address, or phone number
• No location data collected by us (GPS or IP-based)
• No microphone, camera, or contacts access
• No account creation or sign-up required
• We use Google Analytics and third-party advertising, which may set cookies and collect anonymous, aggregate usage data (see Analytics & Advertising below, including how to opt out)

Advertising

The World Radio website displays banner advertising provided by Adsterra to help cover hosting and bandwidth costs. Adsterra and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies (including your IP address and approximate location) to serve and measure ads. We do not share any personal information with Adsterra. See the Adsterra Privacy Policy for details.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the App is used — for example, how many people visit, which countries they come from, and which features are used. This data is anonymous and aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. Google Analytics may set cookies and process your IP address and approximate location for these statistics. See Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out across all websites with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

AI Search

When you use the optional AI Search feature, the text of your search query (and any language/country filter you set) is sent to Groq, a third-party AI provider, to find matching stations. No account, name, email, or other personal information is sent — only the words you type. See the Groq Privacy Policy. Normal browsing and filtering work without it.

How the App Works

World Radio fetches a list of publicly available radio stations from the radio-browser.info community database. This is an open, free public API — no personal data is sent to it.

When you tap a station to play, your device connects directly to that station's public internet stream URL. This connection is between your device and the radio station's server — World Radio does not proxy, record, or monitor this stream.

Local Storage (Favourites)

Your favourite stations are saved locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to any server. You can clear it at any time by clearing the app's data in your device settings.

Third-Party Services

The App uses one external data source:

• radio-browser.info — A free, open-source community radio station directory. Only a search query (e.g., tag: "tamil") is sent. No personal data is included. See their policy at radio-browser.info.

Individual radio station streams are hosted by their respective broadcasters. World Radio has no control over and no responsibility for the privacy practices of those third-party stream servers.

Internet Permission

The App requires internet access solely to:

• Fetch the list of radio stations from the public API
• Stream the selected radio station's audio

No other network communication takes place.

Children's Privacy

World Radio does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The App requires no account and is suitable for general audiences.

Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated, the new version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
